The contribute of an animal to the education of a child
"There are so many things animals can teach children. In short; empathy, interactive skills, respect for others as well as self and social awareness. They are especially helpful to children with developmental disabilities, as well as conditions such as Asperger's syndrome or autism. Children will learn to read the non-verbal cues, the body language, and will later transfer it to read the non-verbal cues of humans. Animals can show us how to see emotion, convey emotion, and connect with others, all without words or judgements."
~Sunniva Helseth Stolanowska > The importance of Animals in Children's Lives
Animals teach our Children to connect to Nature again
Marion tells me that animals teach us to use more our intuition, especially to nurture our children. It seems like we’ve lost our natural ability to follow the rythm of our children, instead we listen to doctors, pediatrics, other parents, books.
Living together with animals at home creates a great possibility for the children to get in touch with nature. To feel the animals without fear, to see their way of living to see death, to understand that whether you have a good or a bad day the animal never judges you for that.
~Marion H. Arras > A Full House of Life in Lecco
| "Kids & animals playing sounds like heaven to me and have never known a child not to love that, as long as they're safe" ~ Janet Lansbury, RIE expert from Elevating Childcare |
