Musical outdoor Play
During my childhood me and my friends played outside for hours and hours. Pretending to be the Charlie's Angels, dancing on Michael Jackson and painting our face with mud becoming indians. I don't say anything new when I speak about the changes for kids nowaways, about the distance that grew between us, our children and nature (read my '15 ways of outdoor play').
The outdoors is a wonderland for the senses of young children, it's filled with breathtaking sights, sounds, and textures. The world outside is the perfect resource for the development of beauty in young children. Wouldn't you be astonished to see a magical tree like this?! (click on it to hear my butterflysong..)
Sometimes the most unusual sounds and beautiful sights can strike a chord within us, and even within a precocious young child! Learning to search for beauty, listen for beauty, and discuss beautiful sounds – these are the building blocks to developing an aesthetic awareness that lasts a lifetime. Becoming aware of the beauty of sound – a part of aesthetic awareness – requires key listening skills. (source)
Let me take you on a journey into the rythms of nature. Let's open up the door to the beauty of natural sounds.
Listening to the beauty of....
...Paper garlands rustling in the WIND
Dance with them, Run with them, sit down with them holding them up....
...Singing BIRDS in the neighbourhood
And speak to them, maybe they will answer you as happened to Chanel (click on the picture to hear their amazing conversation)!!
...The wisdom of a TREE
Have you ever hugged a tree? Read about the loving power of a tree in 'The giving Tree' by Shel Silverstein.
...little MAGICAL FOLKS pretending to live inside the woods :)
I love to do creative visualisations with my child. Dreaming, breathing together while being in silence with nature. This was one of our creations afterwards.
...Dancing on the sounds of the WATER (and the Curchbells)
By clicking ont he picture you can see and hear or musical game at lake como...
Creating a sense of silence because.....
