Making a carton board box acquarium - small world ocean play
This Made With Love - edition I dedicate to an old box from Ikea!
I share with you A small world ocean creation...
a creative fish by a toddler
Some days I decide no to have an agenda. It's then that I connect to my creativity, to the fun, to colors, to the child within. I feel bright again, and excited, full of laughter. On one of these days I asked my friends via facebook:
"Hi all, I am making an acquarium for the children of kindergarten. What is your favorite fish?"
Oh boy, many friends responded, they send me pictures self made drawings, specified their favorite fish with colors. I was told: "That was so much fun"! So, this post is for all my fishy friends. Read also what wikipedia says about the fish or the choice of your color.
Happy playing, happy connecting to your innerchild!

Blu, White Paint, effects made with Corn starch/water
Messy work, I LOVE IT!
Transformation! The upper part I used the method of squeezing the paint down as I did with Chanel for her first Canvas.
The golden spray couldn't stay out in this art project.
All of them happily floating around, chatting, breathing, BE-ing fishes.
The classic view describes a solitary hunter, ranging the oceans in search of food. However, this applies to only a few species. Most live far more sedentary, benthic lives. Even solitary sharks meet for breeding or at rich hunting grounds, which may lead them to cover thousands of miles in a year.
Most butterfly fish mate for life and raise their young together. Sometimes, if one dies, the other may also perish. Occasionally, there may be three to six in a small group. These little fish are a delight to visit on a coral reef. They are usually busy pecking away at the coral and scurry quickly if disturbed; however, if you move slowly, it is possible to follow them, film them successfully, or just enjoy them (Elisabetta's choice).
Clownfish are sequential hermaphrodites, meaning that they develop into males first, and when they mature, they become females (Emanuela's choice).
In Greco-Roman mythology, the RAINBOW was considered to be a path made by a messenger (Iris) between Earth and Heaven (Carolina's and Kym's choice).
In Japanese, "koi" is a homophone for another word that means "affection" or "love"; koi are therefore symbols of love and friendship in Japan (Gratia's choice).
Mommy and Boy fish, especially made for Maija's and Ruben's new born son: OLIVER.
Goldfish who is better known as a ALL eating fish as a choice for Maria and Dhanada.
Pink fish for Leony expecting a baby!!
Pink Salmon as a choice for Juha and Paul.
Pink is a mixture of red and white. Commonly used for Valentine's Day and Easter, pink is referred to as "the color of love."
The word green is closely related to the Old English verb growan, "to grow". It is used to describe plants or the ocean. Sometimes it can also describe someone who is inexperienced, jealous, or sick. In the United States of America, green is a slang term for money, among other things (Nicole's choice).
The Betta Splendend is quiet a difficult fish to maintain, but it's colors make my people fall in love with it! (Camille's choice).
How the Children played with it
A great activity to rearrange in space the different objects. Small world Play also stimulates pretend play, immagination and fantasy. Please Click HERE to see a video I've made during on of my play workshops from a toddler playing with the same fishes on contactpaper!
I pretended being the sea itself where fishes play and a romantic self made upcycled boat for pincesses and princes floats towards the unexpected ;-)
