Reggio Emilia is a town in Emilia Romagna, a province in the North of Italy. A famous food region, since they make the balsamico vinegar and the parmerggiano cheese. Besides the food, Reggio Emilia is visited every year by thousands of childhood experts, coming from all over the world. I was one of them last october 2010 when I got the wonderful oppurtunity to dive profound into the so called Reggio Emilia approach.
I visited several infant - toddler centers / asili nidi (0-3 years old) and preschools / asili (3-6 years old), talked to the educational staff and shared opinions with my collegues coming from 29 different countries!
"Reggio Emilia’s in depth studyweek was a wonder of learning to me."
We are living in Italy, right on the como lake. Once every now and then we enjoy the good life and go out for a pizza. This time we were alone in the pizzeria and sat on this magnificent table. My daughter got the idea of making her own show, probably inspired by the animated way Italians speak with their hands.
Such fun while waiting for our dinner and we didn't need any material or toys for that!
Human kind is very attracted by the concept of flying. How it is to fly we don't know (yet). I am not talking about the sitting in a airplane - kind of flying, but I mean the real floating with your whole body through the air-flying.
Also my daughter, 5 years old, wants to fly! Inspired by Tinkerbell and Mary Poppins. How can I stimulate my child to dare to dream, to be creative, to keep on following her wishes?
